On savait déjà qu'Alain Feydri avait croisé les Kinks à Londres en 1977, on ne doutait pas qu'il en connaisse l'histoire sur le bout des doigts : on reste néanmoins surpris par son degré de compréhension et d'amour pour le sujet. Plus qu'une biographie : une épopée au cordeau.

A captivating band deserves a passionate story teller. And the ad hoc connection came about, here, in these pages The Kinks and Alain Feydri share a long history, quasi-infinite, crystallized today by the words of one, beautifully flowing in to the wake of the others. The meeting between the lad from the Périgeux and the son of a Muswell Hill gardener was inevitable, both cultivated on the same limonite flowerbeds, so favourable for the awakening of these delicate rock petals and their contagious corollas and panegyrics. Legendary activist for independency, for the underground press (Nineteen, Abus Dangereux...) and official press (Rock Sound, Rolling Stone...), Alain puts all the elegance of his pen in the service of the band that has justly inscribed that word -- elegance -- in the genetic patrimony of Rock 'n' Roll. We already knew that Alain Feydri had crossed paths with the Kinks in London in 1977 and we never doubted that he knows the bands history by heart: nevertheless were surprised by his degree of comprehension and love for the subject.
